Zara's Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook

Yes I am a little late with this, I am sure a lot of you have already started updating your wardrobe's ready for the autumn/winter seasons, ever heard of the saying 'better late than never'?
Lately i've been obsessed with Zara and have been shopping there more often recently and that's not just because the sale is on. Whenever I walk into the store I can't help but think of elegant Parisian women, and to be honest with you, I think I need a bit more elegance in my life. I'm a huge fan of Zara's tailoring especially the shorts (I purchased a pair recently) and the simple designs made with luxurious fabrics like silk and leather.
Anyway, have a look at their S/S '10 Loobook and get inspired:

Mulberry for Target

I've been talking about collaborations a lot lately. First it was Jeffrey Campbell with Office, then Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, and now my favourite handbag designers, Mulberry, decide to team up with the American store Target. The good news - we can get our hands on its much-coveted bags at high street prices! The bad news - they'll only be available state-side! I best get communicating with some Americans.
Our beloved British label joins a long list of designers such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Proenza Schouler, and Zac Posen to name but a few who have collaborated with the U.S brand.
The collection launches on October 10th and will be available through December 24th (just in time for Christmas so get writing your list) but we've not yet seen any of this collection, I am eagerly waiting and will get back to you when I find out more.
I have some more good news for you. I was flicking through this weeks edition of The Sunday Time's Style magazine and came across a beautiful Alexa replica from the highstreet store Peacocks!! You can 'bag' one (sorry) for just £14. You'd be sacrificing the label and probably the quality but you'll be saving yourself £681. I'm guessing this bag hasn't hit the store yet because I can't find it anywhere online but when it does i'll most definately be getting myself one. I'll leave you wanting the real thing for now.

Celine-ish

THE SHOES! I've been wanting these for a while now, you may remember me saying in a blog post where embraced the wooden heel. Anyway, I got them - and won't take them of - and i'm wearing them as I blog. I think we were meant to be because I looked at the label inside and it read ' Made in Portugal', and that's where i'll be flying to next week for my holiday!

Below you'll see my cute Celine S/S '10 inspired look that I found today in Zara (items were in the sale) I love the leather detail on the pockets and the waistband.

Shorts: Zara £25.99

Shirt: Zara £19.99

On my shopping trip in Manchester today I also purchased this wicker bucket style bag from Oxfam. It was so cheap and I just know i'll get use out of it, whther on the beach, on shopping trips, or at college (a bag big enough for all my art work - FINALLY)

Bag: Oxfam £5.99

Finally

I promised you I'd put them up and here they are - the photos from the Diana Dias-Leão's Dare to Wear exhibition at The Walker Gallery in Liverpool. Sorry about the quality of the images I wasn't allowed to use my flash. I thoroughly recommend that you go and see this collection whether you're a budding fashion designer or just someone looking for a change of scenery.

Brooklyn Gang

"Brooklyn Gang" was Bruce Davidson's 1959 photographic study of a Brooklyn teenage gang who called themselves The Jokers. It acts as a documentation of teenage life during the 1950s and exposes the dark side of a supposedly innocent time period.

Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony

Say "hello" to Miss Sevigny's Pre-Spring 2011 line for the U.S store Opening Ceremony.

The mix-and-match collection comprises five prints - polka dot, paisley, houndstooth, floral, and leopard - in five silhouettes and although the collection is heavy on short, layerable dresses, the five prints are also splashed across jackets, Fogal tights, berets, totes, and handbags. Think of the 90s - chunky laced up boots, leather trousers, big shouldered tea dresses.

I'm just a bit down about the attached price tag (not suitable for students) and the fact these pretty creations belong state-side. The line should be seen in stores around December.

Sunday 20 June 2010

Good news.

So the other day I received an email from the Manchester Fashion Network announcing that I had won a competition that I had entered a while ago to win £100 worth of ARK vouchers. I couldn't believe it, mainly because I completely forgot that entered that competition and so it was a nice surprise, also I have the worst luck and I never win anything (yeah that's what everyone says when they win but I am serious) I've not yet been sent the code which I need to enter on the website to receive my £100 worth of vouchers but I hope they hurry up because I fancied getting some clothes for my holiday to Portugal (I go in 2 weeks!!)

I've been browsing their online site and found a few goodies to put on my shopping list:

£27.99; £17.99; £12.99; £24.99; £22.99
All items from arkclothing.com

That makes a grand total of £106.95, hmm either I drop an item from my list (I'm not sure about the first dress, I think it looks a little 'scrubs') or do I beg mother dearest to pay the mere £6.95 extra?
