Gone are the days when pierced ears were seen as a necessity for glamour and style. This season's catwalks said 'hello' to statement jewellery - which happily complimented the ditsy prints and delicate pastels - with the focus on jewels for the ears. Lobes were dressed up in heavy, bold, bright statement
clip-ons - goodbye sore and stretched ears, it's all about the clip. I myself am a virgin of pierced ears and I will often indulge in a pair of clip-ons now and then, but I find myself raiding vintage fairs and charity shops for these as high street shops just don't seem to stock clip-on earings (well there's not enough of them and if I do happen to stumble across a pair, they'll be so hideous and bargain bucket worthy!) Whilst browsing style.com for my weekly fashion fix, I noticed that big earings were the, well, big thing. Below is just a small selection of designers who worked the style.
Andrew Gn; Proenza Schouler
Rachel Comey
Although i'd love a pair of Rachel Comey's vintage inspired clip-ons (she plans to sell them in packs of five) I am a student and my pennies just won't stretch that far, but luckily i've found some alternatives for the money
Asos - £3; House of Frase - £50
Vivienne Westwood - £54; Asos - £35
Net-a-Porter - £173.70
